Creation and launch of the Eskuria brand of natural wood chalets

As an eco-responsible leader in the field of wood construction, OBM Construction supports local authorities and the private sector in their projects. Whether for public works, commercial buildings or collective housing, OBM Construction has grown over 4 generations, adapting to market opportunities thanks to a solid, functional approach.

In 2022, OBM decided to enter the light leisure housing market by launching a new brand of wooden chalets for gites, campsites, estates, golf courses and agrotourism. Designed with future generations in mind, these chalets are made from French wood sourced from sustainably-managed forests and PEFC-certified.

Recognized for its responsible values, knowledge of the tourism sector, and expertise in branding, brand creation and launch, the Wild&Slow agency was chosen to carry out this mission. Here’s a look back at the highlights of our brand creation project.

Create a brand from A to Z over 4 months. 

One of the challenges was to produce a solid product in a short space of time. In short, we had 4 months to :

    1. Organize workshops on “The brand in its market”, and “The soul of the brand”, and write an emotionally rich brand platform.
    2. Propose 8 brand naming ideas, filtered according to their emotional potential and their identical precedence with the INPI.
    3. Propose 3 brand signature ideas, also filtered according to INPI.
    4. Select 2 name axes. The first was finally discarded after an in-depth legal study, with no secure strategic outcome. The second was low-risk, and we were able to put in place a strategy for filing with the INPI to secure the brand.
    5. Create 3 visual identity ideas, to guide our client towards a final choice.
    6. Create a complete brand guide.
    7. Create the presentation brochure, as well as the point-of-sale displays that accompanied the brand’s launch at the Atlantica trade show.
    8. Create their eco-design website

A successful brand creation and launch: thanks to real competitive advantages, the strength of their group, and the solidity of the brand, the launch was a dazzling, immediate commercial success.

Creating the name

The creation of this name is the fruit of our work on the brand platform in participative workshops with the OBM Construction teams.

This brand name is a promise, evocative of the excursion, the stable (family group), and above all of the squirrel, that small, agile, curious forest animal that we don’t meet so easily. All in all, the spirit of a spontaneous vacation in a woodsy atmosphere.

To accompany this naming, we have created the signature “Chalets Nature & Bois”. In addition, the aim is to add a direct anchor to the product category, an essential element in a launch.

The acronym

Animals and plants are at the heart of this acronym.

In concrete terms, the symbol is imagined as a double reading. On one side, the bird evokes escape, freedom, travel and the seasons; on the other, the squirrel recalls the symbolism of the name. The whole is designed in a leafy, green spirit.

The brand’s showcase site has been created using a radical eco-design approach. It stands out not only for its environmental performance, but also for its loading speed, and consequently its SEO performance.
